EGYPT-MERCOSUR Free Trade Agreement South american countries and Egypt allied for free trade WHO and WHEN: ARGENTINA, BRAZIL, URUGUAY, PARAGUAY, CHILE, BOLIVIA, ECUADOR COLOMBIA, PERÙ and VENEZUELA (Mercosur) signed with EGYPT an Agreement entered in to force in 09/2017 WHAT: The agreement provides preferential privileges for Egyptian exports to enter Latin American markets by : -Cutting tariffs by more than 90% and cancelling customs duties on agricultural goods The FTA also aims to reduce the cost of imports from Latin American markets such as: -Soy oil -Mea -Sugar The most important exports are : -Chemicals -Engineering goods -Textiles

WHAT: Exemption on barriers and tax for the Egyptian export inside of the WTO Agreemet. -Duty-free access, particularly for processed and semi-processed goods -The removal of non-tariff barriers; -The removal, where appropriate, of para-tariff barriers -The negotiation of long-term contracts

-GAFTA/PAFTA The Greater Pan-Arab Free Trade Area WHO and WHEN: The FDA was declared within the Social and Economic Council of the Arab League as an executive program to activate the Trade Facilitation and Development Agreement, between ALGERIA, BAHARIAN, EGYPT, IRAQ, KUWAIT, LEBANON, LIBYA, MOROCCO, OMAN, PALESTINE, QATAR, SAUDITI ARABIA, SUDAN, SYRIA, TUNISIA, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, YEMEN and EGYPT WHAT: Member states were asked to produce specific commitments regarding elimination of tariffs, nontariff measures, and rules of origin.
