EGYPT - EFTA AGREEMENT The easyest way from Nile to the Nordic Sea WHO and WHEN: The EFTA States signed a Free Trade Agreement with Egypt in 2007 in which are included ICELAND, LIECHTENSTEIN, NORWAY, SWITZERLAND and EGYPT WHAT: The Agreement covers duty free trade in : - Industrial products as : fish and other marine products and processed agricultural products -Almost all the other industrial goods The Agreement includes: - Provisions on state trading enterprises subsidies -Anti-dumping measures affecting the trade relations between the Parties -Disciplines on safeguard measures

-COMESA (Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa) The Free Trade Area of the Integrated Community of the African Union: WHO and WHEN: COMESA is born in December 1994 to replace the former Preferential Trade Area (PTA). The organization Member State are BURUNDI, COMORO, Democratic Republic of CONGO, DJIBOUTI, EGYPT, ERITREA, ETHIOPIA, KENYA, LIBYA, MADAGASCAR, MALAWI, MAURITIUS, RWANDA, SEYCHELLES, SUDAN, SWAZILAND, UGANDA, ZAMBIA, ZIMBABWE WHAT: -Preferential Trade Area (PTA) with lower tariffs applied to intra-regional trade originating in member countries than to extra-regional trade - Free Trade Area (FTA), in which no tariffs are levied on goods from other Member States whilst each Member State applies its own regime of tariffs to goods imported from outside the region -Customs Union (CU) involving free trade amongst the member States but with a Common External Tariff (CET) according to which every Member State applies the same tariffs on goods from outside the region -Common Market (CM) with free movement of capital and labour, considerable harmonization of trade, exchange r

AGADIR AGREEMENT The Arab Free Trade Area: WHEN and WHO: The Agadir Agreement is a free trade agreement between four Arab countries: EGYPT, JORDAN, MOROCCO and TUNISIA. It was signed in Rabat in February 2004 and came into force in July 2006 . In 2016 the agreement was joined by PALESTINE authority and LEBANON. WHAT: -Industrial products -Agricultural and processed agricultural products -Trade in Services -Priority sectors are for the ATU are:  Textile and clothing sector  Automotives  Leather and shoes Main benefits are: -Cumulation of origin between Member States to the Convention with Euro-Mediterranean countries -Preferential treatments of exported goods under the Convention, input and components coming from any of the Member States calculated as domestic -Movement certificate Euro-Med: a passport for goods between the convention and 30 countries in the Euro-Med group -Industrial goods (commodities and products) traded between the Member Countries are subject to a process of dismantlement of customs duties and other duties and taxes of similar effect with regard to importation

-USA- EGYPT BILATERAL AGREEMENT A Free Trade Zone with the United States of America: WHO and WHEN: EGYPT and USA established a Trade and Investment Trade Zone in 1999 evolved in 2004 to the QIZ Agreement. WHAT: U.S. exports to Egypt include -Wheat and Corn -Mineral fuel and oil - Machinery - Aircraft - Iron and steel products. U.S. imports from Egypt include - Apparel - Natural gas and oil - Fertilizers - Textiles - Agricultural products.

EURO-MED PARTNERSHIP, The Free Trade Area between the European Community companies and the one from the South Mediterranean area: WHEN and WHO: In 2004 the partnership between ISRAEL, MOROCCO, ALGERIA, TUNISIA, EGYPT, JORDAN, LEBANON, SYRIA, TURKEY, the PALESTINIAN autorithy, CYPRUS, MALTA and the EUROPEAN UNION has come in to effect. WHAT: -From 2010 Egypt is inolved in a bilateral agreement with EU to eliminate tariffs on industrial products and to obtain concession on agricultural ones. -From 2013 Egypt has started the negotiations to join with Morocco, Jordan and Tunisa Deep and Comprensing Trade Area (DCFTA).
